Turning discoveries into products.
Overview

Argolyn Bioscience Inc. uses proprietary peptide modification methods to repeatedly derive and develop novel and value-added therapeutic products to address major unmet medical needs.

The Company was founded in May 2002 on the basis of inventions created in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas A. Dix in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. The core technology affords the use of a series of proprietary amino acid analogs that--when incorporated into known bioactive peptides--increases their stability, deliverability, and selectivity. In short, these peptides become more viable as drug candidates.

The technology already has been used to derive promising new drug candidates indicated for schizophrenia and pain. Each of these compounds act at novel targets. The same technology is being used to derive additional novel peptide-based drug candidates. Argolyn Bioscience intends to out-license or partner these compounds as they advance through the regulatory approval process.
